We call it ‘Air’ because it will be literally everywhere at the festival. We designed it specifically with brands and advertising in mind. We are the official route to information for everyone at the event. There are interactive mapping services, timetables, video delivery, ‘youtube’ like uploads to the big screens, live news updates, and much more, all delivered to each persons mobile, always-on, always live, at no charge. The large screens throughout the arenas, campsite and key traffic points give further interaction. It’s a fully developed, wholly interactive experience. Last year 45,000 people were delivered the service, 14,500 had multiple usages, this year we expect well over 50,000 live, regular users and that is pure gold for any brand who wants to interact with this audience.”

IRISH MUSEUM OF MODERN ART USES SETANTA'S SCREEN

Who would have thought that art traditionally viewed in galleries and museums could also be so effective outdoors?

Setanta Screens has installed a 63metre squared modular LED screen in the courtyard of The Irish Museum of Modern Art at The Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin. The screen exhibits Irish artist, James Coleman’s, 1980’s piece ‘So Different…. and Yet”, as part of a series of installations throughout the city.

The temporary screen is the largest installation of its kind and will provide viewers with complete uninterrupted access to Coleman’s art work for six weeks as and from March 6th 2009 to April 26th. For over 30 years James Coleman has used projected film, slide shows and photographs as a powerful means of conveying his reflections on the meaning of images, moving or static.

The Roscommon native is known internationally for being one of the most important and pioneering artists in contemporary art over the last forty years, transforming the role of image and sound in visual art whilst redefining our relationship with the artworks seen in museums and galleries worldwide. His exhibits for this unique event will be located at The Irish Museum of Modern Art, The Project Arts Centre and The Royal Hibernian Academy, offering the Irish public a unique opportunity to view works from several of his collections.

Coleman has successfully influenced and changed the way in which we engage, understand and interpret art today. Displaying his works on Setanta’s LED screen invites yet another change to the way in which he presents and enables a wide interpretation of art, suitable to the ever changing technological shift.

Ronan O’Kelly of Setanta Screens says

“This is exactly the kind of challenge we love. James Coleman’s work demands new and different qualities of our technology and the team have been immersed in the challenge to deliver his unique vision. It is a brilliant illustration of what our team and our equipment capabilities are. James’ work is world-renowned and has a reputation for the very highest of standards, so for him to entrust such an important international exhibition to us is a great honour, it has been a real pleasure for us all to work with and learn from him”.

SETANTA SCREEN GREETS VISITORS AT DUBLIN'S O2

Setanta Screens have recently installed a permanent LED screen at state-of-the art entertainment venue, The O2 in Dublin.

Working with the developers, contractors and site owners, Setanta designed and installed the screens’ structural foundations, structure, screen panels, weatherproofing, power, content distribution and branding elements as a bespoke package to the venues requirements.

The outdoor 12.5 Sq. Metre LED screen installed outside the venue is located at the East-Link roundabout on Dublin’s North Quays. The structure was completed in just 6 days, it houses over 20 Sq Metres of Dynamic branding for venue sponsors ‘O2’ and is also unique to Ireland.

Built and finished to the highest standards, The O2 screen has been designed to operate in all extremes of weather. Content is controlled remotely, in real-time, via a web-based broadcast system and it operates twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. The installation is capable of carrying all forms of media from text and RSS to live and recorded video.

Ronan O’ Kelly, CEO of Setanta Screens says,

“It is great to deliver a world-class solution here in our home market. The O2 is an amazing venue and for our installation to be part of the public face of the arena helps to illustrate both the value of our products and the abilities of our team”.

Mike Adamson, Managing Director of The O2, says,

“In an ever changing technological environment the screen moves us on from the old styled billboard to new and advanced techniques of relaying information to customers. It has its distinct advantages over billboard type advertising as it is energy efficient and low costing, it’s environmentally friendly and it looks attractive”.

IRELAND'S FIRST INTERACTIVE DRIVE-IN MOVIES AT FARMLEIGH

This summer, Setanta Screens will deliver three days of Drive-In Movies at Farmleigh, in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.

The service is provided free-of-charge by the Office of Public Works at Farmleigh House and was regarded as one of the highlight events of 2008.

Last year’s showings of the likes of Jaws, Grease, The Snapper, The Shining, were oversubscribed with over 2,000 cars full of people enjoying the movies on a 50Sq.m LED screen.

Whilst the movie is shown on the huge screen, the sound is delivered via digital FM signal to car stereos onsite. Further sites nationwide are also being considered for a touring Drive-In event later in the summer.

Setanta Screens and the OPW are seeking a name sponsor for this year’s event.

SETANTA SCREENS LIGHT UP THE CHILDLINE CONCERT

The O2, Dublin opened its doors for the first time since its renovation project in 2007, to The Childline Concert in December 2008.

The newly revamped concert venue welcomed acts onto its stage accompanied by 6 large LED screens provided Free-of-Charge by Setanta Screens.

Ronan O’Kelly of Setanta Screens said

“A good few of us in Screens have kids and Childline is just a fantastic charity. Caroline Downey and her team are big supporters of this company and it’s the least we can do to help out. That it happened to be the first gig at The O2, and was very large-scale in terms of screen usage, and the set was one of the nicest I’ve seen for a while, made it a brilliant show to kick-off the year, so it was a real feel-good gig for us”.

Formerly known as The Point Depot, The O2, Dublin was originally built as a rail terminus assisting the local busy port. It was later redeveloped into a concert venue and in 1988, ‘Huey Lewis and the News’ performed making them the first music artists of many to fill the venue with crowds of fans.

The 10th Annual Childline concert took place with acts from all over the world covering the stage to donate in their way to the charity supported by Cheerio’s.
